This is my personal video I recorded of a fire which destroyed the historic Towers Hotel in Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada. Amazingly, seconds after the building collapsed a small, black and white cat ran out of the rubble unharmed, surviving what could have been a CATastrophic ending.

Toward the end of the video, a firefighter walks over the check on the cat!

AABENRAA, DENMARK — “The firefighters came out in force this afternoon when a fire broke out in an apartment on the corner of Forstallé and Dronning Margrethesvej in Aabenraa. Two men, who were in the apartment, had pretty much extinguished the fire, which had started on the stove. The two had to go to the hospital for observation, because of possible smoke poisoning. The fire had spread to the hood of the stove, but the firefighters quickly got it extinguished. Due to the heavy smoke, several cats had to be helped out by the firefighters.” —Photo: Søren Gylling

SYDNEY, Aus—Cain (front centre) with the kitten he pulled out of the drain. Eight fire fighters turned up to rescue a kitten at Jacqui Circuit, Baulkham Hills. The kitten was flushed down the toilet by 3 year old, Alannah Merletto. The kitten was re-named from Patrick to Cain, after the fire fighters name who pulled the kitten out of the drain. BIRMINGHAM fireman Mike Jenkins took his work home with him – when he adopted a kitten he rescued from beneath a pile of old wood. Mike, based at Hay Mills station, thought the black and white puss was the cat’s whiskers after saving her in the garden of a house in Sparkbrook. The four-week-old kitten, which has been named Sparkle, came into Mike’s life at just the right time as his family’s cat, Marmalade, was run over and killed a month earlier. Dad-of-two Mike said: “When we moved to the Midlands we got a cat as a sweetener for our nine-year-old daughter, Alisha. Then a month ago, it was run over and Alisha was devastated. “When we rescued the kitten, I told my wife Diane what had happened and she said we should adopt her.
