Cat Walks Away from Hotel Fire!
Not a news story, and a definite self-rescue! But I couldn’t resist this video of a cat that trots out of a collapsed building that firefighters had been dousing with water:

This is my personal video I recorded of a fire which destroyed the historic Towers Hotel in Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada. Amazingly, seconds after the building collapsed a small, black and white cat ran out of the rubble unharmed, surviving what could have been a CATastrophic ending.
Toward the end of the video, a firefighter walks over the check on the cat!
